Boston Career Forum Nov. 20-22: Japanese-English Bilingual Interviews at the Hynes

BOSTON, MA — The Boston Career Forum returns to the Hynes Convention Center in the Back Bay on Friday, November 20, and runs through Sunday, November 22. For three days, the big hall on Boylston Street turns into an interview floor for Japanese-English bilingual job seekers, with employers sitting down with candidates for jobs on the spot. It is free, but it is not open to everyone, and the people who get the most out of it applied weeks before they walked in.

Three days, one venue, one big catch: you must be bilingual in Japanese and English and hold, or be finishing, a bachelor's degree. Here is how to register, what to bring and how to make the weekend count.

πŸ“ What the Boston Career Forum Is

The forum is part of the Career Forum Net calendar, run by Career-Tasu. The organizer is blunt about what sets it apart: it is a place to interview, not a place to collect brochures. Some employers also hold dinners or receptions for candidates during the weekend.

Daily hours and the 2026 employer list were not posted in a form we could verify, so check the organizer's event page for both before you plan your days.

⚠️ Read This Before You Book a Hotel

The forum's FAQ sets two requirements. You need to be bilingual in Japanese and English, at a minimum beginner level in both, and you need a bachelor's degree or higher, including one you're expected to finish. Individual employers often set a higher bar for language and graduation date than the forum itself, so read each company's posting before you apply.

If you don't speak Japanese, this is not your event. Boston has general-audience fairs this fall, listed in our fall job fair guide, including the November 4 job fair on Soldiers Field Road with no membership rule.

βœ… How to Show Up Ready

  • Register as a member first. Only registered members can take part, and you must check in every day you attend.
  • Apply ahead where you can. Candidates can apply to companies before the weekend and arrange interviews in advance.
  • Bring plenty of resumes. The organizer recommends extra copies even if you have no interviews scheduled.
  • Dress for an interview. There is no official dress code, but anyone expecting to sit down with a recruiter should dress the part.
  • Work the booths. Walk-in interviews can happen on the day, so visit the companies you didn't hear back from.

πŸ—ΊοΈ Getting to the Hynes

The Hynes Convention Center sits on Boylston Street, connected to the Prudential Center. The Green Line's Hynes Convention Center station drops you near the Boylston Street entrance. Parking is tight here and the front driveway is off limits, so take the T.
