BOSTON, MA — Ten employers are setting up tables on the third floor of 75 Federal Street next Tuesday, and the roster is better than most: Logan ground handlers, the Museum of Science, a Dorchester utility contractor, and the outfit that runs the duck boats you have been stuck behind on Boylston. MassHire Downtown Boston is calling it the Facilities and Operations Job Fair, and it runs three hours in the middle of a workday.

MassHire published the roster, which is more than most fairs do:

Swissport and Piedmont Airlines – both Logan operations. Swissport has handled ramp, baggage, de-icing and cargo at BOS since 1978; Piedmont is American's wholly owned regional carrier.
Museum of Science – facilities and guest services at Science Park on the Charles.
Boston Duck Tours – operations work behind the city's most visible tourist fleet.
Feeney Brothers – the Dorchester utility contractor doing gas and electric infrastructure, emergency response and municipal work across New England.
Auto-Chlor System and Baldor Specialty Foods – route service, installation, warehouse and delivery.
Keystone Management, ECO Logic and The Liberty Group – building services, environmental work and hospitality staffing.

The center groups the openings into maintenance and facilities, field and route service, installation and skilled trades, and guest services. There are also business-side roles in sales, operations, marketing and development, which is not the usual mix at a facilities fair and is worth a question if that is your background.

⚠️ Read This Before You Go

Here is the part that will send someone home from Federal Street disappointed: every attendee has to be a registered MassHire member with a Job Seeker ID at the door.

It is not a hard bar, but it is not a same-morning bar either. Registration runs through JobQuest, and first-time users have to create a MyMassGov profile before the JobQuest account will work. Massachusetts runs one statewide floor of $15.00 an hour, with a $6.75 service rate for tipped work. There is no separate Boston minimum and no county rate layered on top, so your address does not change your legal floor anywhere in the metro.

The floor is beside the point here. Cross-referencing several salary datasets puts Boston maintenance and facilities techs in a real market range of roughly $21 to $38 an hour, with averages in the mid to high $20s. Licensed trades, ramp work with shift differentials and anything needing a CDL sit at the top of that. Guest services and entry custodial start lower, but almost never at $15 in this city.

LVLS Integration is recruiting low voltage technicians Wednesday, September 23, 12:00 – 2:00 PM over Zoom, with 30-plus openings in structured cabling, CCTV, audiovisual, fire systems and access control across Boston, Burlington and Woburn at a posted $24 to $33 an hour. Same membership requirement. Different day, different format, no drive.

Register with MassHire first. Everything else is wasted effort without it.
Bring printed resumes. A stack. The center's own pitch for this fair is that an application is stronger when there is a face behind it.
Know your credentials cold. License class, hoisting or electrical licenses, HVAC or EPA certs, forklift, OSHA 10 or 30. Airport employers will ask whether you can clear a badge background check.
Get there before noon. Three hours sounds generous until you are fourth in line at 1:45.
Take the T. 75 Federal sits between Downtown Crossing and Post Office Square, a short walk from Downtown Crossing, State Street and South Station. Financial District parking on a Tuesday is a bad and expensive idea.
